Welcome to the American International School of Bamako!

AISB is a fully-accredited international school, offering a learner-centered educational program for students PreK to Grade 12, and is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS). We welcome students from diverse backgrounds, and prepare our graduates to attend fine universities and colleges in North America, Europe, and around the world.

Children are the world’s most precious resource and children are our future. At AISB, children learn in a safe and encouraging environment. While AISB students learn fundamental skills in reading, writing and math, they are also encouraged to ask questions and seek answers. AISB students explore, experience, search, research, create, construct, communicate, and connect new learning to what they already know. At AISB, we guide students to grow academically, physically, behaviorally, and socially. We encourage students to think critically and creatively, draw conclusions, problem solve and share knowledge. Our students work individually, in pairs, and on teams. They learn to understand responsibility, celebrate diversity, and practice global citizenship. They learn to trust, to take risks, to serve others and to laugh while they learn.

AISB is a learning community. It is the place where community members, including board members, administrators, teachers, paraprofessional staff, and parents, use their passion and expertise to focus on student growth. The AISB curriculum is designed to promote learning that is integrated across subject areas and incorporates real life experiences. Teachers guide students. Together, teachers and students create learning experiences that address whole child interests and needs. AISB teachers nurture, guide, and inspire students to use what they know to venture into the unknown.

The AISB community is looking forward to another year and another learning journey. We invite you to join us in this unique and strong community and venture forth with us on our upcoming learning journeys. Please feel free to contact us with your questions.

Sincerely,
Dr. Stacy Rosie
