AISB Alumna Named Among African Shapers 2021

In March 2021, 10-year-old Congolese writer Rebecca Malkia Bashi, a 6th grade student of the American International School of Bamako, published her first novel from Mali. Entitled “Witmorth Academy: The Magic Bracelets”, the book tells the story of a girl who had to fetch her sister in the forest. The plot is based on a story where a character has to go and get magic bracelets to help her friends.

Rebecca was among 45 distinguished persons of Congolese origin in 2021 named by the African Shapers media firm. African Shapers is an online new and media house providing unpublished news from actors in a changing Africa.

We celebrate Ms. Bashi’s achievement. Copies of her book, “Witmorth Academy” can be purchased on Amazon.
